Instructors' Bio's:
Master Malone ...
At the age of 16 I started in the Martial Arts at Yun's Black Belt Academy. Received my first degree Black Belt in Taekwondo and Hopkido in 1981 under Master B.K. Yun - a very disciplined teacher. I went on to train in Shotokan, Aikido, Judo and Eskrima (with Tom Sipin in Milwaukee).
In 1989, I partnered with Grand Master Likes to start the Weston Branch, Likes Black Belt Academy. Through a later affiliation with Martial Arts America and Premier Martial Arts, we were introduced to many different styles of training and received instruction from respected teachers, such as Suro Inay and Roger Carpenter. In the late 1990's I established my own dojo - the forerunner of Premier Martial Arts.
My training continued in: Krav Maga (Isreali Special Forces hand-to-hand combat system), kick boxing, extreme competition forms taught by Premier instructors Barry Van Over, Lauren Kearney, Ernie Kirk; the Inayan training system of Eskrima; Okinawan Kobudo (with Sensei Neil Stolsmark in Waukesha and under Master Tadashi Yamishita's system); and Jiu Jitsu (with Royce Gracie).
I currently hold:
A 5th degree Black Belt in the art of Sim Mu Do tested under Korean 9th degree Grandmaster Pan Gon Song. (Sim Mu Do is a Korean art which focuses on Taekwondo, Hopkido and Jiu Jitsu).
-
Instructor certification in Inayan Eskrima under Suro Mike Inay in Siniwali, Dequardes, Larga Mano and Kadena De Mano.
-
A 4th degree Black Belt certification in Pankration Jiu Jitsu under John Townsley (ex-president of the association).
-
A Black Belt in Okinawan Kobudo under Master Sensei Stolsmark and Master Tadashi Yamashita.
It's my hope that every student gains not only amazing new physical skills, but also develops the strength of character to confidently choose their own path in life and reach new goals. I love to help my students push beyond preconceived limits - while working around any physical limitations - it's a wonderful journey. The best part is we can do all this and have a lot of fun at the same time.
Mr. Salazar...
I started Martial Arts when I was six years old. I wanted to be like the Ninja Turtles, so I begged my father to put me into classes. My father wanted me to gain discipline at a young age. After 12 years I would like to think I'm as cool or even cooler than the Ninja Turtles and the discipline I have, would make my father proud. I've competed and won several competitions in creative and traditional styles. I enjoy many weapon styles, with the sword being my favorite.
I love the Martial Arts because the sense of confidence, self worth, and discipline I've developed due to my training. I hope to pass on these traits to the people I meet and as an instructor I get that opportunity.
Mr. Schuster...
I joined Premier Martial Arts back in Sept of 98, because of my good friend Mr. Heil. I had always wanted to try it out and I've never regretted making that decision. I initially started out only wanting to learn self defense, never intending to compete at tournaments. However, after a few months of classes I decided to try a tournament and it was the best experience I could have had. I didn't place well, but I persevered through my fear of getting in front of people and did the best I could. It has forever given me the confidence to do things I normally wouldn't have.
I've been given the opportunity to help Mr. Malone by teaching the introductory private lessons. I get to chance to meet new people and to help them achieve a goal that they have set. Martial Arts has been an experience of a lifetime for me and I don't plan on stopping anytime soon.
Mr. Heil...
I started Martial Arts in August of '96, just before my senior year in high school and I've been there ever since. I was always interested in Martial Arts but too shy to try it, however with some encouragement from my family I gave it a try. In my 12 years I've seen many changes, but one thing that doesn't is the family attitude we have, a deep caring and friendliness that you feel. The 'Family' may change, but you always get that sense of caring. I feel we should all learn some Martial Arts, a little never hurts and it can be very helpful too.
