Feet together, hands at your side, head up straight |
| Ready Stance |
Feet about shoulder width apart, make fists bring to chin, then slowing punch towards floor |
| Defense Stance |
Both legs pointing forward, back leg to be on ball of foot, elbows down hands open and near face |
| Fighting Stance |
Same as Defense Stance but hands closed |
| Horse (Sitting) Stance |
Spread legs apart, bend both knees and sit down like riding a horse, keeping your back straight up and down |
| Bow |
Start with a Set Stance, then bend forward at waist |
| Walking (forward) Stance |
Step one leg forward, keeping both feet facing forward and shoulder width apart. Bend front leg and keep back leg straight. Center your weight between both legs. |
| L-Stance |
Front leg points forward and back leg points direction to the side. Heels should meet as an L. Put 60% weight on back leg and 40% on front leg. |
| Cat Stance |
Front leg points forward, however only ball of foot is touching floor. Back leg is pointing to the side. Heels should still meet as an L. Put 80% weight on back leg and 20% on front leg. |
